Quizás algunos hayan leído la historia pero no por eso deja de ser interesante y más aun la forma en que el modelista la abordó.
Año 1943, días antes de navidad, un B-17 Ye olde Pub tras bombardear el puerto de Bremen, intenta volver a Inglaterra con serios daños en la aeronave incluyendo 3 de sus 4 motores dañados, sin la cúpula de plexiglas, que resultó destruida por una explosión proveniente de alguno de los más de 250 cañones que protegían el blanco, que había sido nada más y nada menos que la fábrica Focke Wulf, blanco prioritario dada la letalidad del “Butcher Bird” alemán.
En su vuelo de retorno y dada su condición de averiado y rezagado, con los sistemas de oxigeno, hidráulico y eléctrico, armas sin funcionar habían debido descender peligrosamente, con el artillero de cola KIA y 6 WIA, el bombardero fue avistado por un caza alemán que cargaba municiones y combustible en tierra, el piloto alemán, Franz Stigler del JG-27, despegó en su máquina para terminar el trabajo, se puso lado a lado de la aeronave dañada y le indicó con señas que aterrizara, el piloto aliado no accedió y el caza alemán se fue detrás de la cola del bombardero, todos en el avión esperaban lo peor pero el caza alemán bloqueó a la Flak, que no pudo disparar permitiendo que el bombardero lograra llegar a su base en la base aérea RAF Seething.
No sería hasta 1998 que ambos ex-enemigos se reunirían forjando una gran amistad que perduró hasta que ambos cruzaran el Arco iris.
El trabajo de ambas maquetas muy buenos y representa en lo general la historia, notable trabajo aun cuando el B-17, a esas alturas del vuelo estaba en peor condición que lo que muestra pero entendemos la licencia artística del autor.

El Steyr-Dimler-Puch fue un vehículo blindado construido a mediados de la década de los 30, previos naturalmente a la WW2, para el Ejército de Austria, básicamente su rol era patrulla de fronteras y carro policial. Su denominación ADGZ obedece a Austro Daimler, también se le conoce como M35 Mittlere Panzerwagen
Es interesante ver cuán temprano las planchas blindadas inclinadas, 4 ejes y cuerpo simétrico angulado aparecían en escena; estaba pensado para operaciones urbanas y se le vió operar en fases muy tempranas del conflicto. El vehículo portaba 12 ruedas dado que los 2 ejes centrales llevaban 4 ruedas c/u y los 2 de los extremos sólo 2.
Resulta curioso mencionar que solamente se construyeron 27 unidades antes de la guerra (chassis Gz 1-Gz 27), tras la anexión de Austria, la Wehrmacht no se mostró interesada en los vehículos, los cuales fueron transferidos a las SS y empleados mayoritariamente en funciones policiales y contra partisanos en los Balcanes. En 1942 las SS realizaron un pedido adicional de 25 vehículos, la mayoría de los cuales fueron transferidos a las fuerzas croatas. El modelo aquí representado corresponde a la marca HobbyBoss en escala 1/35 luciendo el carismático y camaleónico Panzer gray, en alguno de sus cientos de tonos. Ya que están de moda, como scrap, revisen este modelo, notable el resultado, los detalles, acabados, la pulcritud de la pintura y sin embargo no resulta en un modelo insípido. Extraordinario trabajo.
